
南京大学地理与海洋科学学院肇始于1921年竺可桢先生创立的地学系,素有“地理学家摇篮”的美誉。著名地理学家竺可桢、胡焕庸、张其昀、黄国璋、李旭旦、任美锷、王颖、顾朝林等教授先后在此执教,培养了一批杰出学者和社会贤达人士。
学院获得国家“双一流”、2011 计划、985 工程、211 工程、国家重点学科、江苏省优势学科等支持,为国务院学科地理学评议组成员、教育部地理学教学指导委员会副主任、中国地理学会副理事长单位等。当前,学院以地球系统科学和人地关系理论为指导,围绕地理学和海洋科学基本理论问题和国家重大战略需求,在地球系统科学、地理要素过程与全球变化、地貌学、碳循环与碳中和、海陆相互作用与海岸带资源环境、土地资源保护和利用、南海资源环境与海疆权益维护、国土空间规划与城乡融合发展、旅游地理与国家公园、遥感科学技术、地理信息新技术及应用等方面取得原创成果,特色和优势鲜明。
现有专任教师78人,其中教授37人、副教授及准聘长聘系列教师39人。拥有两院院士2人、国家高层次人才18人、国家教学名师1人、国家重点研发计划与973项目首席科学家6人。拥有国家自然科学基金委创新研究群体、国家重点领域科技创新团队、教育部创新团队、教育部黄大年式教师团队、江苏省高校优秀科技创新团队等。
学院拥有国家2011计划中国南海研究协同创新中心、国家111引智基地、教育部关键地球物质循环前沿科学中心、地球系统科学国家虚拟仿真实验教学中心、海岸与海岛开发教育部重点实验室、黄山国家公园生态系统教育部野外科学观测研究站、自然资源部国土卫星遥感应用重点实验室、碳中和与国土空间优化重点实验室、江苏省地理信息技术重点实验室等平台。

南京大学地理与海洋科学学院面向全球招聘有志于从事地理学与海洋科学教学与科研的优秀青年人才。2024~2025年度拟在4个领域共招聘6个岗位,以准聘助理教授为主,特别优秀的候选人,也可应聘准聘副教授岗位;特别优秀的高层次人才岗位另议。2025年度招聘岗位如下:
1、人文地理(1人)
包括自然资源利用与可持续发展、国土空间规划与治理、旅游地理、经济地理、非洲地理与地缘政治等研究方向。从事人文地理方面的教学和科研工作。具有地理学、城乡规划学、地理信息科学等多学科交叉的知识背景。
2、海洋地球科学(2人)
包括海洋动力过程、海岸海洋物质循环过程、多圈层作用与海岸海洋演化等研究方向。从事海岸海洋多尺度物质输运过程、气候变化和人类活动影响下海岸海洋关键物质循环和生态环境效应、多圈层耦合作用下海岸海洋系统演化的教学与科学研究。具有地理、物理海洋学、浅海动力学、地球系统科学等多领域学科知识背景。
3、自然地理学(1人)
包括环境DNA、微生物生态、土壤生态学、树木年轮、水文气候、生物地理学等研究方向。从事基于环境DNA、生物大数据等技术探究微生物群落及其与环境的关系、微生物多样性时空分布格局,或树木年轮学、陆地水文学、全球气候变化、生态-水文过程及其模拟等的教学与科学研究。具有地理学、微生物学、生态学和生物信息统计学,或地理学、大气科学、数据科学的交叉知识背景。
4、地理信息科学(已招满)
包括地图学、地理观测与模拟、数字国土空间、地理大数据与空间智能等研究方向。从事地图学与地图制图、地理大数据聚合及融合、地理空间信息智能处理分析、地理大模型、地理可视分析、智慧城市理论及方法的教学与科学研究。具有地理学、测绘科学与技术、遥感科学技术、计算机与人工智能等多学科交叉知识背景。

2.具有良好的师德师风,恪守学术道德,勤勉工作,无犯罪记录,无违反师德师风和学术道德惩处记录;
3.一流的学术背景:具有相关学科领域的博士学位,具有一流教学科研机构的学习、工作经验,熟悉相关领域国际前沿的研究动态。原则上,准聘助理教授要求博士毕业从事学术研究2年以上,准聘副教授要求博士毕业从事学术研究4年以上;

The School of Geography and Ocean Science (SGOS) at Nanjing University is an internationally renowned center for geographical and oceanographical research and education, situated in one of the most prestigious universities in China.
SGOS is known as "the cradle of geography" in China, with rich history and significant contributions to the establishment of the field in the country. SGOS is originally founded as the Department of Geoscience in 1921 by Professor Kezhen Zhu. The department has been home to many renowned geographers and scholars, such as Kezhen Zhu, Huanyong Hu, Qiyun Zhang, Guozhang Huang, Xudan Li, Mei'e Ren, Ying Wang, and Chaolin Gu. Nanjing University consistently ranks in the top 7 universities in China, and ranks in the global top 10 universities for research in the 2023 Nature Index. Her geopraphy is ranked as one of the best in China.
Guided by theories in Earth System Science and human-land relationships, SGOS's research tackles the basic questions in geography and ocean science, as well as the grand challenges in China's development. SGOS innovates in Earth System Science, processes of geographical elements and global change, geomorphology, carbon cycle and carbon neutrality, land-sea interactions, land resources protection and utilization, maritime rights and security, territorial planning and urban-rural integrated development, tourism geography and national park management, remote sensing, and geographic information science.
There are 78 full-time faculties in SGOS, including 37 full professors, and 39 tenure-track associate professors and assistant professors. Among them, there are two academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences/Chinese Academy of Engineering, 18recipients of national talent programs, one national teaching master, six principal investigators of National Key R&D Program of China and Program 973. SGOS is home to several high-level teaching and research platforms, including The Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies, National 111 Talent Recruitment Base, Frontiers Science Center for Critical Earth Material Cycling, National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center for Earth System Science, Key Laboratory of Coast & Island Development of the Ministry of Education, Field Observation and Research Station of Huangshan National Park Ecosystem, Key Laboratory of Land Surface Satellite Remote Sensing Application Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Key Laboratory of Carbon Neutrality and Territorial Space Optimization, and Key Laboratory of Geographic Information Technology of Jiangsu Province. The school has severalprestigious research groups such as the Innovative Research Group of National Natural Science Foundation of China on landform process and the environment evolution, National Science and Technology Innovation Team in key fields of past climate change, Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education, Huang Danian-style Faculty Team of the Ministry of Education, and Excellent Scientific and Technological Innovation Team of Jiangsu Universities.

We currently have six tenure-track positions opening four disciplines during 2024~2025, including physical geography, human geography, geographic information science and marine science. These positionsare offered at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor. Highly qualified applicants may apply for higher rank positions, including tenure-track associate professor and tenured positions, pending on negotiations with SGOS and Nanjing University. Details of these position opening are listed below.
1. Human geography (1 position)
We seek applicants with one of the following areas of expertise: natural resource management and sustainable development, territorial planning and governance, tourism geography, economic geography, African geography, and geopolitics. Successful applicants will conduct teaching and research activities in human geography. Strong educational and research background in geography, urban and rural planning, geographic information science arepreferred for this positions.
2. Marine geoscience (2 positions)
We seek applicants with one of the following areas of expertise: ocean dynamic process, coastal-ocean material circulations, multi-layered interactions and coastal ocean evolution. Successful applicants will conduct teaching and research activities in coastal ocean multi-scale material transport processes, coastal ocean key material cycles and ecological environmental effects under the influence of climate change and human activities, and coastal ocean system evolution under the multi-layered coupling. A strong educational and research background in geography, physical oceanography, shallow sea dynamics, Earth system science arepreferred for this positions.
3. Physical geography (1 position)
We seek applicants with one of the following areas of expertise: environmental DNA, microbial ecology, soil ecology, tree rings, and hydrology/hydroclimatology,biogeography. Successful applicants will conduct teaching and research activitiesin environmental DNA, biological big data and other technologies to explore microbial communities and their relationship with the environment, temporal and spatial distribution pattern of microbial diversity, tree rings, terrestrial hydrological processes, climate change and its impacts, eco-hydrological processes and simulation. Interdisciplinary backgrounds in geography, microbiology, ecology and bioinformatics statistics, hydrology, atmospheric science, data sciencearepreferred for this positions.
4. Geographic information science (Full recruitment)
We seek applicants with one of the following areas of expertise: cartography, geographic observation and simulation, digital territorial planning and management, and geographic big data and spatial intelligence. Successful applicants will conduct teaching and research activities in cartography, geographic big data aggregation and fusion, intelligent geospatial information processing and analysis, large geographical models, geographical data visualization and analysis, and smart city theory and methods. A strong educational and research backgroundin geography, geographic information science, remote sensing, computer science, and artificial intelligenceare preferred for this positions.

The applicant should
1.abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;
2.abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity;
3.have a first-rate background in academic training—specifically, a PhD in relevant disciplines, experience in studying and/or working at first-rate teaching and research institutions, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research field(s); In principle, the applicant for Assistant Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than two years after receiving the doctoral degree. The applicant for Associate Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than four years after receiving the doctoral degree.
4.have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;
5.demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development.
6.be in good health.
